Thinking, Planning, Doing.

Thinking, Planning, Doing.  What works best for you in your career?  How often do you Think before you Plan or Do?  Why is it easier for you to,  just Do It?  What comes first when you Plan, the first step or the last step?  Who gives you “the nudge” to take action?  How often does your self-starter personality need a bit more time?   While it’s a work in progress for many of us, we all Think, Plan and Do, pretty frequently.

A few years ago I became acquainted with the work of a Coach who specialized in Sports, Business and General matters.  His name is Simon Hartley –  Founder, Be World Class. http://www.be-world-class.com   Earlier this year, he shared the presentation he had given explaining what he learned in his 10 years as a Coach.  The presentation is entitled, “How Ordinary People Become World Class.”  As you read through Simon’s 8 characteristics, you will probably find a characteristic that rings true for you:

1.  They have a dream and are fueled by a genuine love and passion for what they do.

2.  They habitually focus on the next step; the one right in front of them right now (not just the end result).

3.  They keep things simple.

4.  They understand what they will, and absolutely will not, compromise.

5.  They push the envelope.

6.  They are mentally tough.

7.  They take complete responsibility for their performance.

8.  They are able to be themselves.

So many of us were caught in the web this July of dealing with some drastic climate changes.  It’s time to pat ourselves on the back for pulling through these life-changing occurrences.  Choose Who You Want to be Known As when you THINK, PLAN AND DO.  Enjoy your week.

P.S.  Thinking and planning time was the motto before doing, where I was employed, in one of my career positions, quite some time ago.
