Expect, Expected, Expecting . . .

“If we hope to go anywhere or develop ourselves in any way, we can only step from where we are standing. If we don’t really know where we are standing… We may only go in circles…”    Jon Kabat-Zinn
When the unexpected happens, I am reminded of the phrase, “expect the unexpected.”  It’s similar in context to “something always goes wrong” so hope for the best it will be something small.  The recent events in our global climate certainly have shown the truth in these words we utter when something goes wrong.  It’s a way of moving on from Expected results we do not have control over.
Our careers have shown us to know what you are doing and where you are going so that we have control over ourselves and not the world around us.  When we build trust between our co-workers,  we know each individual’s talent will hold us together to complete our work.  We surely do expect some disagreement because we are not all alike.  We do surely expect to rely on one another because we share the same goals.  We share the same commitment at our company to get the job done because that’s why we get paid.
While we all work towards minimizing errors, we do know what we have control over to avoid circles of errors.            Be the best that you can be As you Choose Who You Want to be Known As this week.  Have a great week!
